Biography

Robert Seghedi’s path, chapter by chapter, with the press sources.

Robert Seghedi

Software orchestrator & architect, founder of Seghedi Confoederatio, co-founder and CEO of e‑Data and co-founder of OpenLaw. One of the voices of Romania’s new generation of tech entrepreneurs, he builds native apps for iPhone and Mac.

Beginnings

Pitești, where it all began

Raised in Pitești, Robert Seghedi wrote his first lines of code at just twelve. Self-taught by vocation, he mastered the craft straight from the official documentation of programming languages and from projects built alongside others, with a discipline rare for his age.

Already in high school, at the prestigious “Zinca Golescu” National College, he placed his talent in the service of the community: he rebuilt the school library system from the ground up, in Python and Django, bringing it back to life after an update had put it out of use. In 2021 the experience became the subject of one of his essays published in CodeX, on Medium, alongside reflections on the Apple ecosystem and on the self-taught path into programming.

2020–2022

The voice of the students of Argeș

Still a teenager, he joined the leadership of the Argeș County Student Council in February 2020 as executive secretary, and in October of the same year took over its presidency, which he held until May 2022. He carried the voice of the county’s students to the General Assembly of the National Students’ Council and to the Advisory Board of the Argeș County School Inspectorate, where he sat as a full member.

Under his leadership the council became a civic force to be reckoned with: it backed the national petition “Stop playing ping-pong with Romania’s education”, called for term exams to be suspended and brought the county authorities to the debating table. In January 2022 he led the students’ protest against the new threshold for merit scholarships, a mobilisation of real scale: on the day of the strike, roughly 40% of the county’s high-school students stayed away from class.

The press followed his every step. He was invited into the studios of Argeș TV, Curier TV and MFM Dance, and Ziarul Argeșul devoted a profile to him at just 17, on “courage, honour and commitment”.

2022

SpanVault, the first startup

In his final year of high school he launched SpanVault, an AI-powered search engine for digital products. The project opened the doors of Amazon’s AWS Activate program and made the pages of Adevărul and Ziarul Argeșul. In 2023, Radio România Actualități featured him in its “Modele de oameni” (Role Models) series.

2023–2024

colegul.ro

From June 2023 to June 2024 he led colegul.ro as co-founder and CEO, a platform for high-school students built around an idea as simple as it was ambitious: “High school, only different”.

Since 2021

e‑Data

In May 2021 he co-founded e‑Data, the company he has led as CEO ever since and has built into a software and automation studio, with offices in Pitești and Bucharest. e‑Data designs, deploys and maintains systems for companies that run on large volumes of documents and data: invoices picked up straight from email, reports that generate themselves, workflows that no longer pass through the same hands three times.

Its client portfolio includes The Bit Smith, Adumitru Media Network, Patricia Francu MUA and DanBlocks. It is also a Shopify Partner, building stores and integrations on the Shopify platform.

Since 2025

OpenLaw

In August 2025, together with Ștefan Binișor, he laid the foundations of OpenLaw, a tool set to redefine the way Romania’s lawyers work: legislation, case law queried with artificial intelligence, time tracking, invoicing and complete case management, brought together in a single place.

The March 2026 launch resonated nationwide. Libertatea, Znews and Playtech covered it, and the two founders were invited onto TVR and onto “Generația Z” on Radio România București FM.

Since 2026

THOTHEM Intelligence and Peal

Since February 2026 he has been part of the founding team of THOTHEM Intelligence, a company developing artificial-intelligence systems that turn satellite imagery, open sources and sensor data into decisions for defence, border security and critical infrastructure.

Since March 2026 he has been a Senior Software Engineer at Peal, where he builds the foundation on which other teams launch their products: Next.js templates in which authentication, payments, databases and email are already flawlessly integrated.

Today

The Apple ecosystem

Today he devotes his energy to the Apple ecosystem. A member of the Apple Developer Program, he builds native apps in Swift and SwiftUI: Bento, which counts calories from a single photo, and Money, which brings order to subscriptions, bills and income, both for iPhone, as well as South, a fast, local and private mail client for the Mac. On the Mac he is also working on e-data OS and X Browser.

The apps are in development and getting ready for launch on the App Store.

Vision

Seghedi Confoederatio

Under the banner of Seghedi Confoederatio, the confederation he founded, Robert Seghedi is currently seeking business angels for his pre-seed startups, with the ambition of taking them from their first round of funding all the way to a public listing.

Four of his startups have been approved for AWS Activate, the program through which Amazon Web Services supports startups with cloud credits and technical guidance.
